How To Root With Odin


Note: Before starting the rooting process, get a complete back up of your device and flash the stock recovery if you have flashed a custom recovery image as of now.Because here we are going to use CF-Auto-Root package to root your device and it requires stock recovery environment to work. Generally, relavant Odin programme includes in CF-Auto-Root package and you do not need to download Odin v.3.13.1, the latest version of Odin separately

  • Install the latest Samsung USB drivers on your computer
  • Unlock the bootloader of your device (Settings >Developer Options > OEM Unlock)
  • Visit the official website and download the CF-Auto-Root package
  • Extract the package and install the Odin programme (As Administrator)
  • Enable the "Download Mode" on your device (Press and hold the Volume Down+Home+Power button after switching-off the device)
  • Connect your smartphone to the computer
  • Launch the Odin programme 
  • Click the "AP" button and select the .tar.md5 file from the extracted folder
  • Wait until the Odin load the files and when you see the "Leave CS" in "Log Box" click the "Start" button
  • Then, you will see Red Android bot on your device and the device will boot in to recovery mode automatically


Note: Boot your device into recovery mode manually in order to work the root properly.
